Dagita-Bay lies 7 km away from Rovinj. In order to reach
this part of the coast, you have to go by car and take the
road to Pula. At the locality Kokuletovica (which is 4 km
away from the towncenter) you have to turn right and follow
the road until you reach the campsite Veštar. In order to
be able to continue your journey to Dagita-Bay, you have
to take the unasphalted logging path which turns left some
ten meters before the campsite entry, after which you turn
left before the campsite Mon Paradis. Following tha path,
you have to turn right until you reach Cisterna Bay, where
we suggest that you find a parking place. The path is maintained
on an annual basis, holes are patched up and the vegetation
is trimmed so that you won't damage your vehicle, although
you have to be careful while parking close to bushes and
low trees.

Dagita Bay
|
As you can see from the map, you can't reach the Dagita-Bay
by car, but you have to take a 20-minutes walk to Cisterna-Bay.
You will have to walk one part through a trodden path which
leads through the coastal vegetation, after which you will
have to walk on the rocky coast. This is not recommended
for elderly people and small children.

Dagita-Bay is a wild beach that has no sports grounds, sanitary
facilities, gastronomic or other services, so that we recommend
that you take everything with you what you might need for
a longer stay at the sea. The closest service offers are
located within the campsite St.Paul (Sveti Pavao), approximately
1,5 km away from the Bay.
The beaches in Dagita-Bay are mostly stony and rocky with
a difficult access to the sea, so that we don't recommend
it to elderly people and children. There are no paths that
lead to this part of the coast, so you will have to take
quite a walk along the coast. There, you won't find any shelter
from the sun in the coastal macchia, since it consists of
low thick bushes, so that we suggest that you take a sunshade
or similar sun protection with you, especially between 11a.m.
and 3p.m., when it is not advisable to expose oneself too
much to the sun rays. Although the beaches don't seem to
be attractive, you will ceratinly find peace and intimacy
here and discover the beauty and the diversity of the undersea.
One of the sights of nature of this bay is the characteristic
rosy colour of the stones that you won't find anywhere else
on the coast of Rovinj.
It is the impossibility of accessing this bay by car, that
makes Dagita well attended mostly by those who own or rent
a craft. This is the reason why you won't come across crowded
beaches, so that they are ideal for nudists.
The distance of these beaches from the civilisation results
in a very lush submarine life. There are fish, mollusks and
other sea animals and plants in abundance, so we certainly
would like to invite you to bring a mask and foot fins with
you and to enjoy the discovery of the seabed. Of course,
please, bear in mind that some species are protected and
that you are asked to respect the submarine eco-system and
not to jeopardize it through useless destruction and pollution.
