Cape Gustinja is about 7 km away from Rovinj.
In order to reach this part of the coast, you have to go
by car and take the road to Pula. When you reach the locality
Kokuletovica (which is 4 km away from the town center), turn
right and follow the road until you come to the campsite
Veštar.
In order to continue your journey to Cape Gustinja, you have
to take the unasphalted logging path which turns left some
10 meters before the campsite entry, after which you turn
left before the campsite Mon Paradis. Following the road,
you have to turn right until you reach Cisterna Bay, where
we suggest that you find a parking place. The logging path
is maintained on an annual basis, the holes are patched up
and the vegetation is trimmed, so that you won't damage your
vehicle, although you should be careful while parking near
bushes and low trees.
As you can see from the map, it is not possible to reach
Cape Gustinja by car, but you have to walk about 15 minutes.
It is possible to cross one part of the way through a trodden
path that leads through the coastal vegetation. The rest
of the way, you will have to walk on the rocky coast. This
is not recommended for elderly people and small children.

Cape Gustinja
|
Cape Gustinja is a wild beach where there are no sports
grounds, sanitary facilities or any gastronomic or other
services, so that we suggest that you take everything with
you what you may need for a whole day stay at the sea. The
nearest services are located within the campsite Veštar,
about 3 km away from the Bay.
In this region the Meditteranean macchia is prevalent where
the coastal oaktree (Quercus ilex) dominates. From August
on, you will certainly be attracted to the yellow-greenish
fruits of Christ's thorn (Paliurus spina - christi), the
vivid red fruits of the wild rose (Rosa canina), the delicious
fruits of the blackberry (Rubus fruticosus) and many other
native kinds which give a special charm to the vegetation
in this season of the year.
The most beautiful beaches in Cape Gustinja are three little
bays covered with grovels (see photo on map). It has an easy
access to the sea and the beaches are very suitable for children.
The other beaches are mostly stony and have more or less
acessible coastal parts. For a more precise picture, please
look at the map on the top of the page, or simply walk the
beach and chose a place that you consider to be the most
appropriate one. Although you will find shelter from the
sun in the coastal macchia, we recommend that you take a
sunshade with you or some similar sun protection, especially
bewteen 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. when it is not advisasable to
expose oneself too much to the sun rays.
Cape Gustinja is mostly attended by those who own or rent
a craft, the reason being the very impossibility of accessing
it by car. For this reason you won't come accross crowded
beaches, so that they are ideal for nudists.
The distance of these beaches from the civilisation results
in a very abundant submarine life. There, you will find fish,
mollusks and other sea animals in abundance, so that we would
like to invite you to bring goggles and foot fins with you
and to enjoy the exploration of the seabed. Please, bear
in mind that some species are protected and that you are
asked to respect the undersea eco-system and not to jeopardize
it through useless destruction or pollution.
