Dear Inforovinj team!
When it is cold outside, and the rain, snow and shorter days affect our mood,
that is the time when we like to remember the days of vacation and relaxation as
well
as our summer holidays at the beginning of August. For the fourth time I was
"lucky" to
have found an ideal accomodation for myself and my family. Probably it was
not just luck. In the most beautiful town in Istra it is very often that the hosts
are very kind and friendly.
We found it very satisfying that we have managed to achieve almost family relationship
with our hosts. We were feeling very pleasantly during the whole vacation.Even during
the rainy days house was filled with good mood among the guests from Italy, Germany,
Poland and Austria.
The level of comfort provided is similar to the one we are offering back home
in Salzburg.
Our host was the best possible adviser for all the excursions, restaurants or
different kinds of entertainment for children. He even knew what one family needs
and what
standards are gladly acceptable and payed for as well. Unfortunatelly, that was
not always the case with the people I have met so far.
For example:
Renting a bike:
The offer is very poor and the state the bikes are in is probably the worst I
have seen in Europe. Is not the care for the children the most important thing? There
are almost no bikes for the children.
Cycling tracks:
The town does not seem to care about that.A small number of tracks, which
are located mostly along the coast, are rather dusty and they are disturbing
the
guests who
have come to swim.
The solution would be to pave the track..Asphalting them would be even
worse than the dust.
Could there be a better solution than the bikes in such a valuable town
centre?!Free the centre from cars.
Local bus transport(taxi,coach):
The guests would be able to get to the finest beaches, good restaurants, parks
etc.
That way you could finance more distant parts of the town which
are 1-2 km from the centre.
I could make many suggestions but I hope the ones I mentioned will
stimulate you to speed up the improvements.
Despite some imperfections,Rovinj is very nice and praiseworthy
destination for tourists.
So far you have managed to avoid building large hotels(dormitories). The
system of sewage seems to be working well. The quality of the
sea is almost unique.An
effort you have made to make the beach look as natural as possible
makes the town and
its
surroundings even more likeable. The restaurants have improved
a lot.Accomodation provided by hotels and other facilities is
set
on a quite high standard.
In a last few years private accomodation has very much improved, and
prices are reasonable and suitable.Tourist are likely to feel
pleased and come
again.
Generally, there is an obvious huge effort made in tourism as
well as on the italian part of an Adriatic sea. There is a
good balance
between
prices
and
offer and
it is well adapted.
Until we see eachother again we would like to wish our hosts
nice winter holidays and let them know we are allready looking
forward
to our future
summer holidays
in Rovinj!
Yours sincerely,
Harald Rigo and family
Austria
